Bandera Community Garden

The Bandera Community Garden at the Silver Sage is a resource for teaching good nutrition and improving understanding of the scientific concepts regarding our source of food from seed to harvest.
We look forward to the Seniors in our community teaching the youth and families of our county the wisdom of past generations as they learn the benefits of canning and preserving the food they plant, nurture, and harvest.
Master Gardeners will teach sustainable growing techniques in this open air classroom. And best of all, fresh produce will be added to the mid-day meals at the Silver Sage as well as to Meals On Wheels.
To learn more and to get involved, please visit the Garden's Meetup website.
On Saturday, April 10th, a volunteer work crew planted dozens of perennials, constructed a cedar box for a raised bed garden, and planted it with tomatoes, squash, zucchini, and bush beans.
